Recycle man

i will admit, i have never really liked halloween and a few years ago my kids decided they really didn't want to dress up anymore. i was secretly excited because i didn't have to worry about costumes anymore.  i know, i am a bad halloween mom!! a few weeks ago, my son (who is in fourth grade) decided he wanted to make a costume for the school halloween parade.  i thought it was great, the best costumes are hand made.  so this is what he came up with.  super easy and SOOOOOO cheap.  i LOVE it!!!!

i am sitting here on my day off watching our first snowfall trying to think of something wonderfully inspiring to write about.  i have been seriously lacking in this area lately.  i feel a little boring and dull.   i have no new pictures or stories so i will leave you with these beautiful snowy pics i found on pinterest.

last night we watched this documentary.  its a good one!!!!  even the kids were interested!!!!  i highly recommend everyone watch and if you have netflix you can add it to your instant queue.

the little things

i was so thrilled to find this little fossil necklace the other day.  i love it!  the color, everything!  it simply makes me happy and think of summer.  our weather is getting COLD and as you know i am not too fond of the winters in alaska.  this winter we are going to be super busy with basketball and traveling to gymnastics meets and hopefully we can squeeze some trips in to our ski resort.

catfish

last week one of our friends insisted that we watch this documentary called catfish.   while flipping through the channels they found "catfish" on hbo and couldn't stop watching.  we don't have hbo so i ran to blockbuster after work and picked it up.  they refused to tell me any details of the film and of course i was super interested.  i wasn't sure what to expect when we watched it, but it kept our attention the whole way through and i recommend  that you see it too and no it is not about catfish!!!!!  so many emotions ran through me-wow!!!!!  

monday loves...on wednesday

loved our weekend in the city.  gymnastics camp and our nephews won the football state championship!!!  YAY!!!!!!!  so exciting

loved having sweet sam home for the weekend from college to watch her brother and cousin play football.

my jewels

about a year ago i made this little jewelry holder.  i can't find the before pictures of this frame, but trust me it was the ugliest 70's framed fabric picture you could imagine. 

i popped the picture out, covered it with this cute fabric i found at joann fabric, painted the frame and it was done....sooooo easy!!!!  the best part is the frame only cost $3 and both the paint and fabric was left over from other projects.  i hung this in my closet and have been adding fun new accessories to it ever since!!!!  love love
